In the week of 10/25/2021, the Presidency and Vice-Presidency of the Innovation Council met with the Rector of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul – UFMS, Agricultural Policy Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA; Advisor to the Basic Education Secretariat of the Ministry of Education-SEB/MEC and Program Director of the Executive Secretariat of MAPA. The purpose of the meetings was to integrate inter-institutional projects that promote the development of innovation, technology and governance for Brazil.
In the week of 10/25/2021, the Presidency and Vice-Presidency of the Innovation Council met with the Rector of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul – UFMS, Agricultural Policy Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA; Advisor to the Basic Education Secretariat of the Ministry of Education-SEB/MEC and Program Director of the Executive Secretariat of MAPA. The purpose of the meetings was to integrate inter-institutional projects that promote the development of innovation, technology and governance for Brazil.
At the opening meeting, the President of the Innovation Council, Marcos Vinicius da Cruz Coelho, pointed out the importance that researchers from Federal Institutions of Higher Education have in the process of transferring technologies to governments. "This shared space of researchers will be able to respond to the challenge of establishing a coordinated and integrated action in which specific knowledge will be treated in order to build a whole, which materializes in Innovation environments and, in turn, in integrated systems, facilitating the confrontation of the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic and the challenges for the implementation of structuring projects based on the experience acquired over almost two years of remote work, hybrid teaching, among other initiatives.
The dean of UFMS Marcelo Augusto Santos Turine also highlighted that this cycle of meetings and strategic meetings allowed for the exchange of experiences and paths to stimulate knowledge around innovation, especially in encouraging the strengthening of management and governance ecosystems for responses efficient and speedy.
The Vice President of the Innovation Council of RBCIP Magda de Lima Lúcio emphasized the importance of shared spaces for research and extension through research groups, observatories and other initiatives that are capable of creating spaces for articulation and integration of actions, as well as to give rise to the creation of new strategies that give rise to the conception and implementation of projects that are based on national technological development.
The Director of MAPA's Programs Directorate, Vitor Hugo Vieira Lopes, pointed out the importance of innovation in the process of transferring technologies to governments, according to him, "the renewal of IT models are fundamental for having operability between systems and with that, managers have reliable information for decision making”.
The Agricultural Policy Secretary at MAPA, Guilherme Soria Bastos, celebrated the meeting and emphasized “that today there is no space where information is collected, organized so that managers can directly access/access interconnected databases from their offices. and thus, generate reports, consult information and, therefore, be able to serve organizations that have an interface with MAPA's activities. Today this space does not exist. For each necessary information, the manager needs to activate several ministerial structures to obtain the data, that is, time passes and the decision is made without good quality and updated information.
The Advisor to the Secretary of Basic Education at MEC, Vilson Alseno Matthes, highlighted the importance of existing programs at SEB/MEC, in particular the Project Laboratory of Creativity and Innovation for Basic Education in Brazil - LABCRIE carried out in partnership with MEC, RBCIP and UFMS “this project is related to two axes of priority actions of the MEC: the first of valuing and strengthening our teachers and the second, the digital transformation of Brazilian education”.
The President of the Foundation for Support to Research, Education and Culture – FAPEC, Nilde Brun, highlighted that through Education, Research and Extension, we will be able to expand professional training and qualification, producing knowledge and promoting technological innovation and use technologies, cooperating for regional, national and international development, in its areas of competence.
During the opening, the director of Aginova, Saulo Gomes, spoke about the opportunity to share knowledge in these meetings. “It is an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences to improve performance. Aginova is on hand to establish the appropriate channels of international connection”.
The President of RBCIP, Marcelo Estrela Fiche, positively evaluated the performance of the Innovation Council against institutional and technological advances and reinforces that RBCIP remains available for new projects and other actions integrated with UFMS.
