RBCIP strengthens CSOs in Maceió with projects aimed at socio-environmental reparations

On January 22nd and 23rd, the Brazilian Certification, Research and Innovation Network (RBCIP) actively participated in the initial phase of the Nosso Chão, Nossa História Program, an initiative aimed at repairing collective moral damages caused by the socio-environmental disaster in Maceió. During the meetings, which marked the induction of the first Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) selected in the public notices, fundamental aspects of the implementation of the approved projects were discussed.

The ceremony was attended by Eduardo Amadeu Dutra Moresi, CEO of RBCIP, as well as July Glécia Lustosa Barbosa and Julieta Alida Garcia Verleun, members of the institution's technical staff. The event addressed key issues such as understanding the program and the context of the disaster, as well as details on the work plans, communication and monitoring of the projects.

RBCIP had two projects approved in Notice 01, consolidating its fundamental role in the reconstruction of organized civil society in Maceió.

RBCIP approved projects:

1. Technical assistance for the formalization of Civil Society OrganizationsThe objective of this project is to expand the network of formalized CSOs in Maceió, strengthening groups that work to repair non-pecuniary damages. Aimed at collectives and associations in the fishing and shellfish production chain in Lagoa Mundaú, the project will offer technical, legal and accounting advice for the formalization of these organizations. In addition, it includes support in the structuring of collective management processes and qualification in productive efficiency and sustainability, with the creation of networks of CSOs and local cooperatives.

2. Support for the institutional development of Civil Society Organizations This project seeks to expand the execution capacity of CSOs in Maceió by providing 80 hours of training in organizational management. In addition, it will offer technical assistance for organizations to develop projects to repair non-pecuniary damages, with an emphasis on project management, monitoring of indicators, participation of the affected public and specific mentoring for action in the context of the disaster.

Commitment to reparation and strengthening of civil society

The Nosso Chão, Nossa História Program includes four priority areas: Entrepreneurship and Income Generation, Environmental Education and Animal Welfare, Promotion and Strengthening of CSOs, and Research and Diagnosis. With the approved projects, RBCIP reinforces its commitment to strengthening civil society and building sustainable solutions to mitigate the impacts of the socio-environmental disaster that hit Maceió.

To follow each step of this process and stay up to date with reparation initiatives, continue following RBCIP's actions.
